High-Quality Nightly Moisturizer
Does dry, itching, burning skin keep you up at night during the winter? If so, you may benefit from switching out your normal nightly gel moisturizer for a formula aimed at fixing your skin's natural moisture barrier.
To add this step to your routine, wash your face as normal and apply any lightweight products before applying your nightly moisturizer. If you have dry skin, consider a thick cream for extra benefits.
Soothing Lip Treatment
When your lips are chapped during the winter, you may reach for a regular lip balm. These can do the trick, but cracked, irritated lips require a little extra care. If you find that your lips crack and peel often during the winter, consider adding a soothing lip mask in addition to your regular lip balm. Simply apply before you go to bed each night to heal chapped lips.
Sunscreen
Don't abandon sunscreen just because it's not hot! Sunscreen is just as important in the winter as it is during the summer. In order to keep your skin moisturized, you also need to keep it from becoming burnt. Winter dryness + sunburn = unhappy skin.
In order to keep your skin happy during the winter, make sure you have a high-quality daily sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30+. Add this step to your morning routine after your daily moisturizer. Daily moisturizers with built-in sunscreen can be a great way to add sunscreen without adding additional steps to your routine. If you're going to be outside all day, bring along some sunscreen to reapply as needed.
